Thanks to the incentives provided by the PRE SEED PLUS “PR FESR LAZIO 2021- 2027 – Lazio Region, Public Notice “PRE SEED Plus”, Application prot. n. A0535-2022-078630 – CUP F18I24000000006”, the company has built a prototype vessel that uses hydrogen and sun as an energy source for propulsion.

The “ELIOS”
Fuel Cell Technology
The “ELIOS” fuel cell technology uses hydrogen as a clean electricity source. The products that emerge from the fuel cell are electricity and water. This technology is adaptable to any existing or future vessel.
Elios aims to bring innovation to the nautical sector by making vessels completely green. Specifically, the main objectives are:
- Elimination of fossil fuel use;
- Efficiency;
- Reduction of noise pollution.

Elios S.r.l. has received funding from the “PR FESR Lazio 2021-2027 – Public Notice “SME INTERNATIONALIZATION VOUCHER 2025″, Application No. A0828-2024-088830”, CUP F18C25002640006, co-financed by the European Union, the Italian Republic, and the Lazio Region, for the marketing of its products in national and international markets. Participation in these events will give Elios the opportunity to showcase its innovative spirit within its exhibition space, rooted in the concepts of durability and renewability, as well as sustainable economic development.

BLUE PLANET ECONOMY EXPOFORUM
Hosted by Fiera di Roma from May 7 to 8, 2025, Blue Planet Economy is the event dedicated to the maritime economy, highlighting the following sectors: ocean protection and monitoring, green logistics and navigation, renewable energy from the sea, fishing and fish farming, tourism, education and training.
The innovative start-up ELIOS, a research spin-off focused on sustainable mobility in the nautical sector, had the opportunity to join a “Platform dedicated to Blue Innovation” at this event, gaining access to markets in the Mediterranean region and beyond, and establishing new contacts with various suppliers and organizations interested in our company’s project: making boats completely green.

Hydrogen Technology World Expo 2025
The “Hydrogen Technology World Expo 2025″*, which will take place in Hamburg on October 21, 22, and 23, 2025, will host meetings and conferences dedicated exclusively to advanced technologies for the hydrogen and fuel cell industry.
This trade fair, which brings together the entire industry supply chain and focuses on solutions, is the place where cutting-edge technology meets concrete applications*. It will give the start-up ELIOS S.r.l. the opportunity to showcase its innovative and completely green project to an audience of experts and others.
The start-up Elios S.r.l., which is testing a hydrogen-powered boat made of high-quality materials, will offer visitors the opportunity to view a scale model in Hall B2 and answer any questions they may have.

Show
The Swiss Boat Show, the international boat show in Switzerland, will take place on November 14, 15, and 16, 2025, at Palexpo in Geneva. This event will bring together boating enthusiasts, water sports enthusiasts, and exhibitors from the world’s leading brands*. ELIOS is eager to participate in this trade show because Italy considers Switzerland an important trading partner, with significant trade volumes and a significant presence of mutual investments.**
